Got my Avid bench top pro running with some custom tool racks. This setup allows me to change tools without removing the dust show. It also does a tool touch off each tool change to ensure if a tool has been swapped that it gets measured. While this does add time (not ideal if you're a high volume production shop) for my use (non-production) it saves me from myself. This script also allows for longer/wider tools not in a rack to be used by coming to the front of the machine and asking for a manual change. Same is true for racking the tool.
Any feedback/suggestions welcome. I still need to wire up and implement the pros sensor in the spindle to check for the tool (or lack thereof), but haven't had time to finish that.
