I am onsite and under a littler pressure to get this system working.
I originally connected based on the schematic that uses the 100ohm resistor with 5v. I could not get the motor to enable. I removed the resistor and the motor will now enable. connecting the enable wires directly to 5v will enable the drive. Now I am working on getting movement. I also had the resistors on the step and direction. Tried removing them with no luck also tried connecting the step and direction pins to the 25 pin port. I also moved the negative connection the 25 pin connection.
It seems I have tested all combinations but I am missing the one that works.
Yes I know there is a board I can use to make the connections easier but do not have that onsite.

Re: SDSK motor help
I do measure 24v at the direction in and do see steps on the step pins

Re: SDSK motor help
I found the winning combination!. I will post what I did for others to see after I finish the job.

Re: SDSK motor help
Ok now that I have the system working. Can any explain when connecting the SDSK motor per this S14972 drawing it does not work?
The only way I have been able to get the motor to function is to use the 25 pins for the step and direction. The enable connections to the motor will work connected to either 24v or 5v. The positive wires for step and direction are connected to the step and direction on the 25 pin connector. The negative wires are connected to the ground pins on the 25 pin connector. This setup is driving the motors as expected.

Re: SDSK motor help
I wire all my Clearpath servos to the Acorn headers using 100 ohm resistors on all three lines, step, direction and enable. Just as shown on S14972. I also use the IPC-5 power supply. All work flawlessly with no issues ever.
The "board" you refer to to make things easier does exactly the opposite. Dont waste your money on it.
