Lathe setup, so only X and Z axis. No limit switches, I'll set soft limits since I have closed loop steppers.

Is there a reason I should wire the home switches in series to one input, rather than to separate inputs? I have the input since I'm not using limit switches.

nope, you can do either, users that want to save on input use HomeAll other that don't using the individual home input definitions
