I have a four wire stop. This optical switch is for altering the start and stop of the axis, e.g. XY only. I am using a laser with only X and Y axes.
I am not sure whether to use LimitAll or FirstAxisHomeOk or FirstAxisMinusLimitOK/FirstAxisPlusLimitOK.
I have the grounds for the optical switches on the COM ports on the DB25 and the Inputs of the each, optical switch on the Acorn CNC inputs that are controlled via the 24v input pin from the PSU to the enable Input pin.
I am not sure whether this is all good now. I am reading the articles dedicated to the types of limit switches one can use on the Acorn CNC.

Please post a pic of this motor please. I've never seen a stepper rated for 24 volts. Stepper motors are typically 2.5 to 3.5 volts. And it's not the motor you size the power supply to, it's the drives. So, on the machine, one would (in a router based CNC) account for Limit X and Limit Y without Limit Z (in my case). Is this correct? I see some people have already viewed it. Thank you to anyone viewing it and having any sort of ideas for me. I will have time soon to test of the "limits" of the machine. I should have had to get time today but like always, something happens...
Also...here is an update to the PSU that powers and does other things for the laser and parts.

So, I have an optical switch, i.e. two actually. I have tried to set up the machine in various ways for homing. I cannot put my homing axis and limiting axis separate.
Also...the VCP is not popping up any longer on my computer. Is it because of the legacy CNC12 4.xx used instead of the newer versioning?
I think I need to use:

I see there are more than one. FirstAxisHomeLimitOk and SecondAxisHomeLimitOk are the two in question.
If I wanted to have the home set at (0, 0) for a router and use those same switches as limit switches because of having the "limits" set in the Wizard, is this exactly what I need to home so I can start?
Or would another set of limit functions be better suited for my router-laser?

Okay...so. I am just going to remove the four-wire, optical switches for homing and limiting. No issue. I will just use a 3D Printer to make a part for the right angle and then put in two-wire limit/home switches so I can use HomeAll.
I am thinking that the knocking is due to the step/direction of the Acorn CNC to DB25 to Gecko Drives (G251) to the motors because of the HomeAll not in place with these optical switches for Homing and Limiting.
So, in hindsight, I should have ripped apart the entire machine to get to the wiring first off. Anyway, off to another task!
