the stock reset home button on the VCP will not re force tecknic hard stop homing if you have the technic power hub. it will simply reset home at the current position.

power has to be removed from motor to reenter technic hard stop homing.

(i heard rumors that there is another mode you can put the MSP software into that may be able to be 'commanded' by manipulating the enable signal but i haven't had time to check into that yet.) you may want to contact Avid as they are the ones that are working on a more 'sophisticated' way of doing this.

I am using the power hub.

What could be causing the axis to unpair after homing.
I can pair the axis again using the axis paired button on the vcp, but if I forget, things could go wrong pretty quickly

im not sure at the moment. there is something strange going on. the error log in the last report posted has a bunch of these in it.

"504 Invalid parameter, line 26"

which axes do you have paired?

please open the Wizard and press CRTL P at the same time , save and post the PDF it generates here.

Did some more testing and found, that after homing, using the VCP jog buttons and MDI to jog the Y axis works fine. Seems to only happen when using the MPG right after homing. If I jog the axis after homing with the VCP Y axis jog buttons, MDI or cycle the axis paired button. Then the MPG works :?

I haven't been able to replicate this yet. But I did notice that your not using the Wizard generated Homing file. 5.06 does have a Wizard Generated hard stop homing file. Your Homing file doesn't look out of the normal. I don't see how that could cause your issue but give the wizard generated homing file a try.

Hi Joey,

I deleted the homing file that was being used from the cncm directory and went back into the wizard to generate the homing program, same results.
The machine will home, but only one motor (Master) on the Y axis will move using the MPG right after homing. If I cycle the paired axis button on the VCP or jog the Y axis using the jog buttons on the VCP before trying to jog with the MPG, then I can jog the Y axis with the MPG moving both motors.

Have you done a fresh install? I would just copy the current cncm direction and then reinstall. Do not Restore a report from the current build. Use CTRL P in the Wizard to make a PDF screen capture of your current Wizard settings for future reference.

Hopefully Something odd just happened with that setup.

Hey Joey,

Did a fresh install, manually entered the settings in the wizard and nothing changed :|

swapped out the MPG6 with the MPG4, both with fresh batteries, same.
Tried different usb ports, no difference. Also not getting any error messages.
Must be one of those pesky Gremlin's
