I've searched and searched for the additional parts needed to use a Renishaw LP2 and I can't find the MA2 anywhere. I'm leaning toward the Hallmark ITTP with the XoomSpeed wireless conversion. Total comes in just at $1100 for a wireless probe setup.

That’s the exact setup I’m using. The Xoomspeed wireless setup works great! There is also a second input for a toolsetter, or whatever you’d like, and it can detect inputs from both devices.

Went ahead and ordered the Hallmark ITTP and XoomSpeed wireless conversion. I'm going to put a illuminated (when on) pushbutton near the spindle to take care of the ProbeDetect function. Working on drawing the mounting box for the switch now.

I bought the digitizing bundle and got it installed yesterday. It will be a couple weeks for both items to arrive. I am going to use the 5 pin 180° DIN connections that both items use. It's a Tormach thing. I spent way too much time deliberating and finally decided to use it. I am installing a probe connection receptacle at the spindle. Mostly so I can get the ITTP working prior to installing the wireless conversion. Also because I'd rather have it available should I ever want it in the future. Lastly because I am setting up the ProbeDetect circuit as part of that.

This combo defeats the "inexpensive" part of the thread title. ITTP, XoomSpeed, some cable and connectors put the total at $1200. The wireless probe will be really nice when I switch to an ATC spindle.

Sounds nice. Production quality me? Not lately...

Designed a connection box for the probe. It will use two existing bolt locations on the Z.

Is that PETG?

If you are using a connector, why a switch? Just put a jumper between two pins in the probe connector to short probe detect when plugged in? Then it's "automatically" detected when plugged in and not when unplugged. Or are you doing something different?

Yes, that is super cheap (Overture) PETG. First time printing it.

The ITTP will be wireless. My thinking is the push button will be my manual ProbeDetect input. I’m installing the DIN connector at the spindle for initially setting up the probe hardwired. Once the probe is working, I’ll convert to wireless. At that point the DIN connector at the spindle will be connected to the XoomSpeed’s second probe input, should I ever want to connect a different probe. I may abandon the DIN altogether once the wireless ITTP conversion is working.

Still trying to sort out ProbeDetect once the probe is wireless. Maybe the XoomSpeed receiver can be made to do it when the probe is active, or maybe I can have CNC12 turn on an output (that would be wired to ProveDetect input) when tool 99 is selected. I’d love other ideas. Still working on figuring that piece out. I want the wireless probe because I plan to install the CNC Depot S30 spindle at some point ya have the probe in the tool rack at tool 99.
