For those who are not following the "Rigid Tap Fails" thread, DIYCNCScott had me change para 68 (min tapping speed) to something lower than 640.

He wrote a detailed explanation of what the cycle was looking at and once he spelled it out for me, it all made sense.

So I changed my Para 68 from 640 to 300!

All programs ran as they should. Single hole, multiple hole, deep hole, shallow hole all ran without any issues.

Great! Please share the detailed write up Scott shared with you so everyone can have the benefit of the information. It was getting difficult for me to follow because it seemed things were getting posted in multiple places....glad your project is done. I hope you felt it was all worthwhile Dave!

At the start of this thread/project, someone made the comment that this mill did not lend itself to using flood coolant!

I started working toward making a flood coolant system and after taking off both of the base side panels and looking at the base of the mill I discovered that there was already a hole cast in the bottom of the mill for a flood coolant drain. Grizzly had just covered it over!

Knocking it out was pretty easy and although it did not break out a smooth a hole as I would have liked, it is still usable!

So now my 5 gallon flood coolant tank will be under the mill and feed up through the column with a drain directly in the bottom and back into the tank. :D

Just some follow up:

I started this chess set over a year ago and I had no way to do the knights until I finished the CNC Mill. Now that the mill is done, I have gone back and ran the knights. I could not make them in one piece as I don't have the ability to or the tools to do anything with a 4th axis.
