Is that a clue? I said 24v because it varies hovering around 24v. Still not 10v.

It is 1/1000 of 24V. This is essentially 0V and what you would expect if the spindle was off. What voltages were you getting in the bench test?

Yup, it’s a clue. Have a look at the manual for the meter and it’ll explain everything. It’s .0249 volts, not 24 .9 volts and still no where close to 10v. As noted by Tom it’s basically zero.

The Acorn board is not the problem here.

Suggest you disconnect the black / white wires from Acorn and take a measurement with your meter being the ONLY connection to the analog terminals

And make sure that you toggle the range button to read straight volts

To all who replied and everyone in general I apologize. I am truly a MORON. My meter was reading mv with nothing on it and switched to v for volts automagicly with current applied. I did not read the whole display and then read the manual which showed the little mv indicator. The worst part is I was a systems analyst/programmer with AT&T for thirty years and was always admonishing clients to read the screen the information is there. I was my own problem. Like Pogo said "we have met the enemy and he is us".

No problems Jim. Not the first guy to not read the manual, fo sho won't be the last. We have gratuitously short memories here.

Just trying to point you in the right direction Jim, we’ve all made mistakes before. Get that VFD wired and let us know it’s working. You might need to install a .1 mfd cap across the Acorn output to smooth out the voltage if you have any frequency fluctuations from the VFD while it’s running.

Thanks all. Got it wired forward/reverse and speed control. Seems to work fine. Thanks for all the help.
