Re: Start of production dearly needed, Fusion 360
1.) where do you home the Z axis? all the way up? or down? as previously stated the report.zip file shows a Positive 180 mm value for the Z travel limit which doesn't make a lot of sense. when you press the Z+ jog button which way does the Z axis go?
2.) after you set the G54 WCS, before running the program, Jog the the max X and Y values of the program, can you jog there?
if so, then F8 graph the program, any error messages?

First
You have your machine setup correctly? If you command a move it move exactly that amount?
You have your soft limits setup correctly? If after you home the machine, you jog the machine to the other end of the axis travel it stops at the value you put into your soft limits?
IF the machine is setup correctly, it does not sound like you are setting up your F1 PART correctly or your part size exceed the travels to me....
Can you post a video clip? Showing your part on the table, where you are setting part zero and the process you set part zero, then press F8 to graph the part.
Have you run other parts successfully?
Watching the video Keith posted a link should be helpful.

Re: Start of production dearly needed, Fusion 360
First of all in this image:
Please tell us:
What axis you have assigned to the left right axis movement.
What axis you have assigned to the front back axis movement.
From what I see in the picture
You are at -X, +Y and I think? +Z
Router guys sometimes switch the X & Y axis.
I looked at your report file and your soft limit settings: If you are truly homing to -X and -Y your settings are ok provided your travel value is set correctly, and of course your limit/home switch is at -X and -Y
Your Z value is positive. If your Z limit/home switch is at the top of the Z travel (Z+) then your Z soft limit should be a negative number. (Down is negative) That number should be put in the Travel Limit (-) box. If your down Z axis travel is 180, then you should put -180 in the Travel Limit (-) box.
At what end are your home/limit switches on your machine?
You have to get the machine configured, axis movement calibrated before you can run a part.

Re: Start of production dearly needed, Fusion 360
I might want to add the fact that the poster has no tool length offsets setup in his config.
As such all of his Z movements will go "up" from the home location if the Z axis is setup in the correct orientation with Z+ moving up and Z- moving down.
I only skimmed thru the previous responses but did anyone tell him to turn off the axis limits until he gets the machine actually working?
Code: Select all

Re: Start of production dearly needed, Fusion 360
This is part of the problem with support. We can't "SEE" a user's setup. We don't know how the machine is configured or the software. All we have to go by is what is posted. Its why I try and point people to documentation/videos/posts.agsweeney1972 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 08, 2019 2:46 pm

More info we have the easier it is to help.

Re: Start of production dearly needed, Fusion 360
For a router, in most cases you should look over the Mill/Router tool setting options here: viewtopic.php?f=63&t=1493
You will select the version appropriate for how you wish your machine to set the Z, then rename (or place in macro button) and assuming you have your tool setting parameters set properly, have shown to work very well.
Here is a video showing 2 of the methods. One uses a portable conductive plate (known thickness) and has the user position the head where setting Z is desired, and presses Cycle Start to proceed thru the macro. The second gives an example of using a fixed location, sensor based tool setter that sets Z ref to the spoilboard.
Note: These macros were modified from the originals in that the verbiage has been changed. https://youtu.be/xqTpEXHOWPw

What do you mean? Your short statements aren't giving us much information on exactly what you are having trouble with or what you need help with.
A little more information on the help you need exactly would give you MORE of what you are looking for.
The Centroid Mill Operator's manual is a wealth of information and applies to the router, perhaps this will get you going?:

Keith's CNC MIll Training Video also applies and should give you some information:
