EMCO turn 55 ATC Problem

Post by Andygraphy »

Hello,

i have a problem setting up my ATC from my Emco PCTurn 55. The tool changer has 2 sensors. 1 for tool counting and 1 for homing.
I set the homing signal on input 3 and the tool count signal on input 4. Both connected via DB25 connector.

Problem -> If i press "Index turret", the ATC begins to rotate but it don`t stop when it got his home signal. :(

anyone knows what`s wrong?

cheers
Andy

Bringing this post back up as I am having the same issue. Any update from anyone who has tackled this?
If I index the turret it goes forward as long as I am holding the "index turret" button and when I let it go it backs up to the last position. However I can't home the turret to the #1 tool position.

Always post a fresh report when asking for help so we can see your machine settings and how you setup the turret.

Try performing an M18 in MDI, this should home the turret. You may want to add it to your homing program.

I tried running M18 but it just keeps turning the turret and it doesn't stop. I can see on the diagnostics that it does trip that input when the wheel with that interrupted section crosses across the optical sensor.

Can you please create a report, so i may look at your setup.

Ensure the input for the home sensor is wired to the input with "ToolTurretSyncBit" assigned. It should be Red (Off) in PLC Diagnostics when not at home position, and Green (ON) when at home position.

I configured it as a timed turret instead of a count so the tool increments are time based. I was able to set it up to work nicely like this so maybe I'll just keep it this way and see if it's reliable enough. So far seems very repeatable.
