Testing the LeadShine EM542S driver and having an issue with getting a motor to spin. Using the 25 pin header. Measuring voltage at the 25 pin connections the direction pin does go high and low as it should with direction. The step pin appears to always have 5v. I need to goto the shop to get my oscilloscope to confirm the pulse. I have also tried setting Activated Pulse Edge Configuration (SW13) on.
The driver has a test function SW16 turning this on does move the motor. This at least tells me the motor works with the drive.
Any help on what to look for is greatly appreciated.

Re: LeadShine EM542S
These drives ship with the 5v-24v switch on 24v by default, just in case you haven't switched it to 5v for DB 25 header use. Do you have the alarm and enables wired in? The drives are enabled by default, so no need for it.
I have a set of these drives for a SB DT MAX conversion that I've started. I've used the EM556S on several systems, and have had great results using the 24V headers.

Re: LeadShine EM542S
Just from the pic, It looks like way to many wires on the db25 to me. On mine 5v+ comes straight from the power supply for step/dir plus. Step dir - goes to the db25. So two wires to that header should get a test motor running. The normal leasdhine dm digram should work for you. The switch for 5-24v gets a lot of people.

Re: LeadShine EM542S
The wires on the top side of the image is for the for drivers Step and direction. The wires on the bottom side is the ground or negative for each driver. I try to avoid daisy chain going to the drives.

Re: LeadShine EM542S
The ground you are using is basically daisy chained through the board. Anyway, I do it opposite and send it 5v all the time, letting the acorn send neg pulses to operate. I think it will work the other way, but I've never tried. If the 5-24v switch is in 5v, you might try flipping the wiring. Take care

Re: LeadShine EM542S
Not using shielded wiring for Step/Dir is asking for trouble...
