Sound good. Here a simple question, maybe. The THC plugs into the encoder connector. Is this using RS422/485 communication? If so can multiple THCs be attached here to the same port? For example: Axis output: X, Y and THC1-motor, THC2-motor

are you talking about two or more plasma torches running on the same machine at the same time?

Yes. Basically if two or more of the centroid THCs be connected to the board or if multiple stand alone thc are necessary. Another thought is sending ports over the ethernet. But I haven't gotten that far yet. lol

right now CNC12 does not support two Plasma THC torches running at the same time.

what kind of machine application is this? photos?

is this an opportunity for repeat machine sales or a one off?

It would be for repeat retrofits. Basically I want have a base of single tool system expandable that could replace an existing control or entire system. Basic operation would be similar to a hypertherm edge or Burny control. There are different models and Interface protocols between both mfg and new edge connect is ethercat only. The THC can be stand alone though. That's why I'm just trying get an idea of the capabilities and how this can be integrated in multiple ways.

What I was looking at is if the THC used an RS422 I may try to tie multiples in via the same connection or through Ethernet. That can be worked out separately though I believe through other hardware via Ethernet.

our THC is compatible with the Centroid CNC hardware (Acorn, AcornSix, Hickory) and CNC12 software, our THC is not sold for stand alone use or connection to CNC12 by any other means than the Acorn, AcornSix, Hickory encoder port. viewtopic.php?f=63&t=921

The stand alone system would be an existing THC system or build another to simultaneously run and time the THCs. As long as I can feed the settings so that everything is on the same process it should be good. I'm gathering the connection is actually differential quadrature input and the THC device is actually controlling the lifter motor. I'll check with Joey to confirm. Thanks
