Mark,
I take you got it working with adding M8/M9 to your post processor?

Rog,
Havnt had time to start to learn how to do it, been busy and dont want to screw something up when the machine is needed. Havnt made a macro yet, will have to do some reading.

Re: Router dust collector vcp button
If you can Manually type the M command in the MDI to turn on and off the DC then centroid is fine. You have to add those same commands to the vectric post processor you are using. Just a text editor like notepad is fine for that. Add the turn on command in the header section and the turn off at the end. Sometimes if using a atc post processor it is helpful to turn off and on during tool changes as well. In vectric you will find them under application data folder.

Re: Router dust collector vcp button
Hi;
I think I'm in the same boat as this oldish thread. I would like to get my dust collection turned on and off with the spindle (since reading this or other threads I think it would be nice to leave it on a few seconds after the spindle stops) I believe I had this working about a year ago but left the router build project for a while to do other things. Not sure what changed but now I can't get the DC to switch with the spindle. It is turns on and off just fine with the VCP on off buttons but won't come on when switched to auto. Dust collector contactor is wired to output-2.
I'm sure I'm doing something bone headed.
I think this is the report file: Here is a copy of my Post Processor from Fusion360: Thanks
Boomer

Re: Router dust collector vcp button
Bud you will probably get more traction starting your own thread. Start a build thread for your machine since you are new here as far as posting and put all your stuff there. Makes for a nice reference later for your machine as an added bonus.Boomer wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2024 11:17 pm Hi;

Re: Router dust collector vcp button
there is a spindle fan output definition with a timer built into it, you can simply use that, its ready to go.Boomer wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2024 11:17 pm Hi;
