Stepper online t6 for lathe spindle

Post by Cncsteve »

Hello all,

Would a stepper online t6 1000w servo motor and driver run a 8x16 minilathe spindle, I have a spare one out the back so wouldn’t mind giving it a try if it will work? it doesn’t have 0-10v analogue and it’s more suited to work holding is my understanding of it. But I may be wrong, maybe I could go 3 phase motor and vfd?

Could anyone clarify this for me?

Many thanks

Steve.

T6 is without 0-10V input, will not work for spindle, but the E6 series will do.

So the e6 1000w will be ok for a 8x16 lathe spindle?

Depends on if you have a gearbox and what kind of cuttingrates and drilling you want to do.
