Howard, PA – July 26th 2024

Avid CNC chooses Centroid CNC technology to power its next generation EX CNC Controllers for both its CNC Router and CNC Plasma machine tool lineups!

When it comes to CNC machine tool kits Avid CNC is known for “added value” products. Customers appreciate the thought and detail of Avid’s curated CNC kits which take the mystery out of building a CNC machine. Avid CNC continues to build on its successful added value model with the new Avid CNC EX CNC controller. The new turn-key EX CNC Controller makes getting a CNC machine tool up and running straight forward with its plug and play connectors, guided setups, straight forward operation with conversational style menus and on-screen operator controls. All of which is delivered on a stable, feature rich, CNC software platform that is specifically designed for use with its rock solid, high performance CNC hardware.

By choosing Centroid, Avid CNC continues to innovate and expand its CNC machine tools with better cutting performance, time saving CNC accessories and new operator friendly CNC software features that simplify part production for a quicker path to customer success.

There are a number of key technical reasons that Avid CNC choose Centroid as their CNC controller hardware and software partner, the Centroid system provides Avid CNC with the CNC tools and feature set that they needed to move forward with its planned product improvements while simultaneously solving outstanding issues with the previous controller that was employed. New features of the Avid EX CNC control such as, motion smoothing and auto touch plate setup routines produce better parts faster with less mistakes.

Avid CNC has also teamed up with another American company: Teknic Inc. employing its Clearpath line of brushless closed loop axis motors. The Teknic Clearpath servo motors have long been supported by the Centroid CNC controller with a proven track record of smooth reliable operation. The Clearpath servos commanded by the Centroid based Avid EX CNC controller provide a significant leap in Avid CNC machine tool performance with strong, smooth, accurate motion yielding excellent surface finishes while reducing cycle times and eliminating scrap due to lost steps entirely.

If you currently own an Avid machine tool do not worry, Avid CNC has not left its existing user base in the router dust! The new Avid EX CNC controller is also plug-and-play backward compatible with existing Avid CNC Machine tools. Long time Avid users have an upgrade path to keep their existing machines running for a long time while adding new capabilities and better performance.

The new Avid EX CNC controller is available:

- As the CNC controller for all new Avid CNC machine tool kits
- As a plug-and-play upgrade controller for existing Avid CNC customers
- As a DIY CNC controller package for other similar CNC Routers and Plasma machine tools.

Congratulations Avid CNC!

We are looking forward to continued growth and CNC product development.

- The Centroid CNC Team
