I'm currently designing a control panel and am hoping to use the Z pulse of an encoder to increase the accuracy of homing. I am using delta ASDA-B3A Ethercat drives, but with an acorn 6 using Step/Direction signals. The drive has an line driver encoder output for Z (as I understand this is considered the index pulse). Is it possible for this encoder signal to be connected to a digital input of the Acorn/Acorn 6 or must the input be connected to the encoder inputs on the Acorn 6?
My intention would be to use a prox sensor paired with the Z pulse for homing all axis.
Thanks!
