Re: homing travels in wrong direction
While Acorn boards somehow work for thousands of users, It's apparent that some people need turnkey systems.
Cheers,

Re: homing travels in wrong direction
That is correct Ron, you need THREE HOME switches not four. It's a 3 axis router (with hardware paired Y motors) so you need 3 home switches. Why, again because you have 3 axis. One on X, one on Y and one on Z.
Once again, you are using the wrong terminology because you fail to READ the documentation. You have 3 HOME switches not LIMIT switches. We did not wire ANY limit switches on your machine. We set up your soft limits as noted in your report.
Please explain to us on here why you think you need four home switches on a 3 axis router that is not software paired or auto squaring.
I'll bet you can't or wont.

Here's my last comment and then I'm blocking you because I simply have better things to do with my time.
It has to be abundantly apparent to anyone who reads your posts that given the poor grammar, spelling and punctuation that for you to actually read and understand the plethora of documentation provided by Centroid for their products and how to configure it is simply overwhelming for someone with your level of education. Good luck.

Re: homing travels in wrong direction
To tblough's point, something turnkey (like the Axiom I used to have) is going to be a lot better choice for some people. It doesn't have anything near the functionality the Acorn has, but that's part of its charm. You just feed it GCode and it does its thing.
Some folks aren't going to be wired for Acorn (no pun intended). There is a lot to wrap your arms around and you need to read a lot of technical material carefully. My wife is really bright. She is a Life Master in bridge. But she has a hard time reading for content. She will be frustrated, and if you carefully go through what's in front of her it seems pretty straightforward, but not to her. It's got nothing to do with education, but it is a block.
I think Centroid could do some things to make the user experience a little easier (I resent the upgrade process), but it's still going to be too much for some folks just given the scope and power of what it can do. If you aren't willing to do the legwork or can't, your sort of screwed.

It could also be that English is not his first language. When I read his posts that is what I thought. Of course alcohol could also be a factor!ShawnM wrote: ↑Wed Nov 15, 2023 10:30 am Here's my last comment and then I'm blocking you because I simply have better things to do with my time.

Re: homing travels in wrong direction
DIY CNC is not an easy hobby.
In Germany it takes 3.5 years education to become a CNC operator for turn key machines
It must be clear that to build a CNC control and fit it to a machine with information's how to operate the machine will not fit in 20 pages.
Acorn CNC is not a toy to be controlled by an app on the smartphone, it is a CNC according to industrial standards.
If you are not willing to learn more than a CNC operator, chose another hobby
