Acorn Six
I just finished adapting a Centroid Acorn Six to my Onefinity X35 Woodworker CNC machine and cannot begin to tell anyone how excited I am with this controller. The homing with the proximity switches is absolutely fantastic, no more crashing into end stops, it’s jus great. The Acorn Six will read any gcode you give it. No More noisy stepper motors. Don’t get me wrong, retrofitting the 1F machine was no piece of cake, it demands a lot of research and work, but in the end it’s worth it. now I've got to figure out the PLC and Macro interaction, should be interesting.

Re: Acorn Six
Glad you got it working and are happy with the Centroid controller. Let the fun begin.
A word of caution, all g code is not created equal so beware if you try to run g code created with a post processor other than a Centroid post processor. It's anyone guess what can happen. I just went through this with another newbie builder.

Re: Acorn Six
I am waiting for delivery of my recent Acorn controller order and a few other components for my Onefinity X50 Woodworker. Curious what proximity switches you went with- thanks. Anxious to get this together and retire the BuildBotics controller.

Re: Acorn Six
I'm curious to hear recommendations here too. I'm building out an Avid with Acorn. Avid ships with NO Pepprl-Fuchs sensors. I'm trying to go NC, but I'm finding them much less available than NO for any given geometry. I understand why NC is preferred theoretically, but if you have to jump through hoops to make one work for you it's sort of a moot point.
