thanks for reporting back!~kavp wrote: ↑Mon May 08, 2023 5:18 pmThanks Keith, for instance if you are using the DB25 for connection to the stepper drives and have "screw terminal" selected. this would result in a direction reverse.
or if you are using the screw terminals for the axis motor drive connections and have DB25 selected in this menu this would result in a direction reverse.
so set this menu correctly to match the actual wiring (db25 or screw terminal) then go set the axis configuration menu to set the direction properly.
That was an oversite on my part. Thanks for pointing that out. Working correctly now.

In the previous installations (up to 4.50), you could choose 3 or 4 axis operation from the main GUI screen. That seems to have been removed for some reason, not sure why you did that. As I mentioned, I turn off the 4th axis servo when not in use and would like the 4th axis coords to be hidden from the DRO screen when I do so. I don't want to rerun the wizard each time.....cnckeith wrote: ↑Mon May 08, 2023 5:04 pmMuzzer wrote: ↑Sat May 06, 2023 10:51 am Well that was a little painful, as the wizard overwrote previous wizard settings when I wasn't looking. But I seem to have got there in the end.
One thing I can't find either in CNC12 itself or the release notes is where to find the option to enable or disable the 4th axis. Perhaps it was removed due to the need to support Acorn 6 but I'd like to be able to turn off the 4th axis DRO when it's not in use. Like most people, I only use the 4th axis occasionally. Is it still available somewhere?
- you can disable an axis in the Wizard Axis configuration menu (or the CNC12 motor menu) by changing the axis label from W,A,B,X,Y,Z etc..etc.. to "N" , "N" = null, no, not connected etc..
- the Wizard does not overwrite any previous versions settings so not sure what you mean , can you further describe in detail? the installer actually makes an entire copy of the old cnc12 version specifically in a backup folder so it doesn't overwrite them.
I don't recall how I got caught out, so sorry I can't show you anything. It's most likely to be finger trouble / senior moment etc.

Does Parameter 131 no longer work?
If you set P131 = 11, then you should get an F6 option on the Setup menu, which will toggle the fourth axis between 'A' (enabled and visible) and 'N' (disabled and not visible).

wow v4.5 long time ago, i can't remember the 3 or 4 axis choice 'main gui' screen you mention, maybe you are talking about P131/ F6 3/4 axis button that marc has mentioned?Muzzer wrote: ↑Tue May 09, 2023 10:31 am

In trying to setup a rack style ATC an issue I ran into was that once I setup all bin positions an other settings, saved them through the wizard. But then I do not get the option in setup, config, ATC init. It is not present. Am I missing something or a certain sequence?

If you are measuring the Tool length when performing tool changes (So you did not select "Maintain Tool Length Offset Library"), then the ATC Init button will not be found. This is only required if you will be maintaining the tool library with offsets.
Instead, what you will do, is run an M18 command in MDI after your setup in the wizard, this will set the Current Tool in Spindle to 1 (This effectively initializes the ATC in this case). Ensure you have tool 1 in the spindle when performing this.
If you are maintaining tool length offset library, change parameter 160 = 1, the initialization button will appear as it should.
