install the firmware on the new BBG. https://www.centroidcnc.com/centroid_di ... icker.html

once done, go back to bench test configuration covered in the Acorn install manual and go from there.

Ok update replaced Beagle bone as reported in last post. No go lights on acorn board were lit up but beagle bone were not lit.

So i did some checking with volt meter and acorn board has something burnt on it no power to beagle bone.

So Just in reading some of the post in here i replaced my acorn board.

Now i need to get this registered with my pro that i paid for . how do i go about doing that .

You will probably need to return the original acorn board that is damaged to Centroid. Since the license file is tied to the Acorn board itself and not the BeagleBone, Centroid will need confirmation that the original board is destroyed/rendered inoperative before they will transfer the license to a different board.

It may be too late since you say you have already replaced your Acorn, but Centroid does have a pretty good deal for replacing boards damaged to to installation errors. See the Acorn Swap Out Program halfway down on this page: https://www.centroidcnc.com/centroid_di ... ranty.html
Cheers,

Tom

Have similar issue last week on my 5-year-old Acorn board, turned on power to system and as soon as I did, board went up in smoke. burnt hole part way through board by connector.
Further investigation 5.0vdc regulator shorted out and if the main board is a 3 layer then something on the middle layer is shorted to ground, so board is a waste. So I had to buy new board and transfer license over to new board

Hello Gentlemen. I have had some issues with this acorn. had a power supply kill my acorn board and my beagle bone board at same time.
I bought all new. installed everything again and had it working good for a week. went to add a new stepper to the mix. Now cpu will not connect to acorn board. have gone through all the steps. cannot get this figured out. it has power to board. i can ping the cpu. cannot ping acorn board.
Beaglebone has heartbeat. have checked firewalls ect, nothing that i can find has changed in computer. i reinstalled cnc12 grasping for straws.
here are the logs

(1) 05-08-2023 9:23:11 930 Log Level Configuration file not found... Creating new configuration.
(1) 05-08-2023 9:23:11 933 Log file initialized

i opened cnc 12 and while trying to connect to acorn board it will ping. 10.168.41
.2 but will not connect and open cnc 12 fully.
i have now gotten a message saying it is installing or updating mpu then i lose heartbeat. will have to turn acorn and computer off and try again.

ok great.

now turn off both the pc and the acorn, connect the ethernet cable from the Acorn BBG to the PC Ethernet port. turn on the Acorn let it boot up (heartbeat) , turn on the PC, double check the PC settings for the ethernet port being used, check that windows firewall is OFF and then double check the rest of the details on this post. https://centroidcncforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=1451

if you still can't get it to connect try a different PC
