How to change incremental jog step (explained)

Post by Fredsan »

How can I change the incremental jog step. I run in Metric (mm) system, and would like to jog in minimum of 0.01mm steps in incremental mode.

By default I can get minimum 0.025 mm looks like 1/1000 of an inch.

When I lower the probing speed in the Wizard to 200mm or below, the jog step is lowered to 0.02, but I do not want to lower the probing speed. I only want to change the jog step.

I checked the manual but cannot find a parameter to set.

Hello Fredsan,

I am running in inches and wanted to change to jog step to .0001.

I changed parameter 40 from .001 to .0001

correct..
and when using CNC12 in mm mode.. simple type in the x1 basic jog increment you would like in millimeters into parameter 40.
so if you want .01mm as the x1 jog increment amount, simply set P40=.01 mm

the default setting of P40 is .001 inch.. and when you switch to metric (without changing p40) this .001" value results in a millimeter move of .0254 mm

all CNC12 parameters (including P40 which is on page 14-20) are covered in the operator manual in Chapter 14. here is a link to the operator manual.

please post a report.zip file when asking for help on parameter related question so we can see what your system settings are.

Thanks for the explanation, I totally over looked parameter 40 in the manual.
