Future plans Acorn controller?

Post by knastenrad »

I assume (and hope) there are some future plans for acorn.
Liked the ether1616 card , so are there any plans of a newer version?
maybe a 5 axis :)

My wishlist is a ethernet box that can accept 2 handwheels for both axis simultanous jogging for lathe :)

Rumor is that it will be a 6 axis board.

Keith blabbed about it on the Acorn Facebook group.

"But we have something new in the works! we have a six axis drive port acorn board in the works...the new product is called "Acorn Six"
We are just beginning the beta testing process."

6 axis 3 encoders. Don't know much more than he posted
Don't ask when its going to be ready!
I understand its about ready to go to Beta....that's about all I know
Reminder, for support please follow this post: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=383

So we can support dual MPGs on a lathe with a spindle encoder.
Or x and y scales on a mill with a spindle encoder."

It would be nice if the board dimensions were the same to swap the acorn to an acorn six......

Just as I am putting the final touches on my reworked/enlarged control panel to accommodate the Ether1616.
