However I have another question due to me having the 4th axis on the machine ( this will not be used on many occasions and may even be totally removed from the machine table at times) When I went to home the machine it goes through the motions of Z,Y,X but then looks to the A axis which rotates continually due to it not having a switch on it. Can I disable the 4th axis from the homing sequence in order to continue somehow? If so can someone please explain it to me? Thanks
Edit the cncm.hom file. Put a semi colon in front of the A axis line

Thanks Marty. I did that and it homes out Z,Y and X but even though it doesn't rotate the A axis I cannot go any further because it says WARNING Machine Home Not Set. if I press cycle start it just repeats tbe ho.e position set up for Z,Y and X

Ok.
Did you only put the semi colon in front of the line that says M92/A L1?
Leave M26/A

Try that

If Z is connected, you still need to set a home position. You just don't want to "search" for home. Comment out the M92 line for Z, but keep the M26 line as Marty says.
Cheers,

Tom

one more question is how do I go about "parking" the machine central to balance the weight for when I am not using the machine? I see a PARK button on the VCP
