I just purchased the Acorn_REV4 CNC control board. I am going to to retrofit a Chinese 6040 CNC.
I have 4 DM542T stepper drivers that I would like to use. this is a 4 axis system with a rotary axis I plan to use
I looked at the wiring schematics provided and only saw Leadshine and Gecko driver wiring diagrams
The schematic for the DM542T is available at https://www.omc-stepperonline.com/download/DM542T.pdf
It has a PUL+ PUL- DIR+ DIR- ENA+ and ENA- as does the LEADSHINE_DM_856 and 870.
Should I wire it the same? PUL- to step(x) DIR- to Dir(x) and PUL+ and DIR+ to +5V No connection to ENA+ ENA-?
I will be using 36V for the drivers.
I am just trying to make sure I read up on everything before the board arrives so I am ready for installation and testing
Thank you
Mark

Re: Wiring Stepper Drivers
Use the Leadshine schematic that shows your step & direction connections to the DB25 header

Re: Wiring Stepper Drivers
I am not using the DB25 connector. Am I wrong in assuming the DB25 port is the same as the H2 and H3 headers?

Re: Wiring Stepper Drivers
Better for you to use the DB25 connector with an inexpensive DB25 Male breakout board. Amazon sells them for about $12artistinfla wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2020 2:18 pm I am not using the DB25 connector. Am I wrong in assuming the DB25 port is the same as the H2 and H3 headers?

Re: Wiring Stepper Drivers
The DB25 connector and H2/3 headers operate at different voltages. They are not the same. There are numerous threads discussing the differences.
Cheers,

I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are where they should be.

Re: Wiring Stepper Drivers
Thank you. From the video it seemed that the db25 was just a compatibility thing for the gecko driver and others and that they were the same pinout
Thanks
