22.5v is low for a 24 volt rail.

Thanks Marty!

I have a separate but probably related issue that I have contacted Arturo about: Sometimes my system will only move in the negative X direction. I can unplug/replug the RJ45 for the X-axis on the C-86 and it will work again. I sent him a message, but haven't been able to talk to him about the issue.

Get the new board first.
Did you connect the two power supply commons together?

UPDATE:
I have isolated the Comm issue to the spindle. I was warming up my spindle, I had stepped it up to 18,000 rpm. When I pressed the RESET button to stop the spindle I got the Comm error. I hadn't moved the machine at all. It happened again when I had pressed the FEED HOLD button during a job and then pressed the RESET button to stop the spindle and stop the job I got the Comm error. So, it appears to be some kind of noise when stopping the spindle at higher RPMs.

Any ideas on eliminating Spindle noise would be greatly appreciated!

The new C86 is on its way and I did connect the commons together.

Might you have a shielded cable from the VFD to the spindle motor? Is the motor power cable grounded at the motor and the VFD? Is the VFD well grounded to the service entrance ground point?

Automationdirect.com sells vfd cable. Here is an article from Belden wire and cable:

There are unshielded individual wires from the VFD to a terminal block and unshielded power cable from the terminal block to the spindle. The grounding seems to be fine. I will be ordering shielded cable and replacing it all.

Clint- are you running shielded cable for the spindle analog input? I use this: https://www.automationdirect.com/adc/sh ... c3-18-1s-1

Slodat - No it is individual unshielded wires as well. I should change that too then.
