Fix for next update + one question.

Post by KD5FZX »

There is one entry in the wizard to select "Run time graphics on startup" in version 12.18 that don't work.
If I have this entry set to OFF, then run time graphics will still be ON when starting CNC 12.18 if run time graphics was ON when I shut down CNC 12.

Question:

Is there any simple way to turn ON "Optional Stop" automatically during start up? Looks like "Optional Stop" defaults to OFF.

Thanks,

I retested turning off and on run time graphics in both mill and lathe v4.18 with the Wizard and it works as it should. I suspect you did not press write settings to CNC control or forgot to restart CNC12 after you did so the changes would take effect.

and please always post a fresh report.zip file it allows us to help you without guessing and saves us time from looking into our crystal ball. thanks, K

Thanks,
no. default is M01 off on startup

Use and M0 if you want the job to stop at a location everytime, otherwise turn on M01 in the Run menu after you home the machine out and then M01 is active until you power off the machine.

Keith,

I just tested again using these steps.

1. I set run-time graphics to OFF in the wizard and clicked write to CNC12.
2. Shut down and re-started CNC12, and turned ON run-time graphics.
3. Started to run a part and run-time graphics is ON as requested is step 2.
4. Shut down CNC12.
5. Start CNC12 and run-time graphics is still ON.
6. Checked wizard and it is still showing OFF.

Thanks.

best way to use it in 4.18 is to have RTG set to ON in the Wizard..
then if you don't want it on for the days session simply use the RTG ON/OFF button in CNC12 Run menu and RTG will be off for the session...then...when you restart CNC12 with RTG Off in the Run menu and the Wizard set to ON... when CNC12 restarts with RTG default to ON. You can also hit the F8 "Gcode" button at the Bottom of the RTG screen when running a G code program to switch in process (live while running a g code program) between the two modes.. F8 again switches back to RTG.. F8 again and back to G code display..
