Ahh sorry I should have been clearer.
What I meant was my current mini lathe is at zero degree (horizontal)
A slant bed, lets say 45 degree angle.
Why wouldn't you just rotate a full 90 degrees and have it on its side at 90 degrees?

Slant bed lathes are usually with linear guide rails (only a few with precision flat guides), a normal mini lathe at 90 deg will not work, especially not with an oil filled headstock.
