4 AXIS CNC WOOD LATHE
Operational build completed.
Schematics, report, settings screen captures and photos attached.
Electronics design & build by yours truly (many thanks to martyscncgarage for help to correct errors).
Mechanics design & build by Ivan Samila.
Video, machine in operation, making product uploaded to:
Note: Dust and chip extraction not connected for above video.

Notes:
- Centroid "Acorn" controller.
Operates with Centroid "Mill" software as "lathe" software does not have 4 axis jog screen.
- Motors: Automation Technologies KL34-8N-1000 (Leadshine ES-M23480-S).
- Drives: Automation Technologies KL8082H (Leadshine CS-D1008).
- VFD/Spindle: 1KW
- Electronics cabinet mounted to final support 'bench', a 52" long wheeled tool chest.
- Lathe; General International, model 25-114.
- CNC mechanics as a separate entity, mounted 'behind' lathe.
- Stepper motor mounted under lathe bed at headstock end, belt drive to lathe spindle.
Can be controlled by CNC program or switched to an oscillator for manual (non CNC) speed control.
- X axis: along lathe bed (38")(965mm) maximum between centres
- Y axis: above and below X axis centre line +/- 5"(+/- 130mm)
- Z axis: to and away from X axis centre line 6" (150mm) away from X axis centre, 1" (25mm) across X axis centre
- A axis: rotation of lathe spindle. Rotation controlled by Acorn board or continuous rotation with separate oscillator

New machine is replacing one with 2.5" (65mm) x 12.5" (320mm) maximum capabilities and router only for cutting.
Knife and router bit capability working together allow production time for most projects to be halved.

Hello. thanks for posting the report.
you might want to crank up the steps per rev for better motion, currently it is set to 200 steps per rev. I recommend a minimum of 1600 step per rev for good motion. see this post for more info.

and please update to v4.20.1 :-))
