Hey All,
Just finished a refit of an old DynaCNC 4 x 4 router. When I got this in April the machine was supposed to run.. Had several control boxes, including a CandCNC Mach3 control box and a few layers of control boards and was a mess. The first time I got it fired up I had the wrong program running and had an uncontrollable crash of the x axis that bent parts.
I was very excited to get this thing and then It sat for a while. If I thought I could have sold it I would have. I had to get parts machined to just fix the x axis and then still had a rock.
During the summer I fly helicopters doing Wild land Firefighting and we sit on standby a lot. I started researching the machine and stumbled upon this great forum. After a bit I took the plunge and bought an Acorn board, DMM DYN4 drives and DMM 750oz servos. After ALOT of Help from folks on the forum, about 200 hours of videos and the assistance of my neighbor/electricion we got the beast going. It was a complete strip of all electronics and we started over.
Today I was able to run a real Vcarve program and it is doing great. I love the CNC 12 software and am glad I stuck with it. Just have to figure out a fixed touch off routine and I'll be about done fiddling with it for a while I hope.
A few pics and videos from my Youtube channel
Sure am glad I found this Forum. I have a pretty good machine now, and I know exactly how it works...

nice! thanks for posting the videos and photos! great to see you succeed.
have you tried out the CNC12 "smoothing" feature yet? i use it on my V carve programs, big difference in cutting action.

Hi Keith,
I haven't tried the smoothing yet. I updated the title on the you tube video.
Thank you
Phil
