Shop built Plasma- Acorn and DMM Dyn4 servos and drives

Post by gt40 »

We just got our scratch built Plasma table working with the Centroid Acorn control, DMM Tech servos and DYN4 drives. We are currently using the "mill" control with Fusion for cam with their Hypertherm PP. We swapped the mill spindle start and stop for M8,M9 referenced in the Hypertherm control for torch start and stop. We also made aux 8 and 9 on the touch screen buttons to allow for manual start and stop of the torch. Torch height control works perfect and the code output by fusion is working with one small issue- there is a g4 x5 inserted that we edit to .5 because 5 seconds dwell is too long. Otherwise it works great.

Here is a short video of it cutting aluminum:

Looking forward to the plasma cutting version being released, but it is working nice and stable.

FYI, we are a nonprofit artist facility and also use Acorn controls on our CNC mill and lathe.
