Prosthetic Shape Carver Acorn Retrofit

Post by Gary Campbell »

Hey guys.....
A current project on the crate and ready to go out the door. The machine, a "Carve Shape" brand from the 90's is used in the prosthetics industry to continuous rotary carve a foam billet to the shape of the receiver's limb. Limb is scanned and once the plug is cut, attachment products are molded over the plug for a perfect fit.

This was a good learning project that hopefully will do much good in the world. Enjoy:

thanks for posting..awesome that machine ran for 25+ years with a Centroid CNC4 controller and now you have updated it with an Acorn! pretty cool to be involved with a machine that's used to help people in such a direct way.
