Chris Itterly made this side by side video showing the Acorn CNC controller running his machine with a DRO connected to the machine as well which is displaying the actual machine position while he runs a test program with and without lash compensation so he could compare the commanded position against the actual position.

X & Z axis have very similar results.
Very happy how this turned out.
I believe the machine has positional accuracy of 0.0005", it will be interesting to see how well it holds dimensional tolerances on produced parts.
It's a bit mind blowing when you consider that level of accuracy is ~1/14 the diameter of a human hair. Additionally, the machine has no feedback system on position, it's entirely open loop.
