Today I finished up all the mechanical and electrical work on my knee mill conversion! Tomorrow starts the configuration and debugging. I'll be starting with CNC11 3.16 since I already have a PLC program ready to go for that. Once I get that running, I'll upgrade to CNC12.

Very nice Tom. That machine looks extremely clean. Did you repaint it?

It was essentially brand new. A friends company bought it and then decided they would rather have a CNC bed mill. This mill was used for about 10 hours total and they sold it to me for half what they paid for it.

I had been collecting tooling and accessories for years had already machined the motor brackets and other bits last year. I was looking for a rebuildable Bridgeport when this one fell in my lap.

Proof positive the deals are out there if you wait.
So you reused the servos, fit encoders, and was off to the races....

Wasn't a CNC machine, just a basic Bridgeport clone manual mill with a VS head. Everything else has been added by me.

Nice Tom,
Did you buy a ballscrew kit or "roll your own"?

Did it include the yolk?
Just trying to understand whether you sourced parts, fabricated mounts, Z axis assembly.
The question of a good kit for manual Bridgeport mills comes up now and again.
