Emco PC Turn 120 Finished and working !

Post by QMC Graham »

My Emco is now all up and running and working well.
Have to say I'm very happy with the results.
Just cut my first real test part using intercon ... Fantastic.
I'm so happy with the results I've just ordered another acorn board for my next project.
Another Lathe, this time a Dutch Hembrug DR 133 nc.
Thanks to all you folks at centroid!
Great product and support.
And a big thanks to chaz for the turret macro work he put in :D
My turret although the standard Emco one had had all its electronics removed so there was no way of running any plc set up for it.
The macro works a treat and all I do now when I've finished working with the machine is call tool 8, turret rotates to 8 and locks.
Switch off cnc12 and machine.
When I restart machine and cnc12 I reference home and then call tool 1 and turret moves from 8 to 1 and sets my A axis (turret axis) to 1 and I'm good to go.
Happy Days.

I will get some pictures up of the Hembrug Lathe if people are interested ?

Great job on the Emco & heck yeah we're interested! Please post some videos of your Emco making chips and also your use of Intercon if you can find time. :D

Thanks guys.
Here's a quickly done video of a simple face, turn and partoff.

I will start a new thread for the Hembrug.
Still plenty of learning to be done with intercon.
And I've got a few more tools to set up in the turret.
Some will have to have the shanks shortened so they fit in, plenty to do !
As I said before super happy with the results from Acorn.

Yay! Feels good doesn't it Graham? :D That EMCO is going to be a very useful tool for you.

I couldn't tell for sure but You didn't use CSS on that did you?

Can you share the work on the tool change macro and theory of operation?

viewtopic.php?f=60&t=1544 Head towards the end of the thread for the final macro. The 'theory' is on the first page.
