Re: Large 3 Axis Router, Clearpath SDSK, Rotating Ballnuts
I researched this a few years ago when I first heard of rotating ball nuts and I was considering building a machine from scratch. I saw them on CR Onsrud, Thermwood and the higher end ShopSabre cnc routers. I saw several machines with them just last month at IWF in Atlanta. Hiwin just sells the ballnuts and it's up to the manufacturer to design the fixed mount part and pulley as every machine is different. I don't remember them being that expensive but let me see if I can find any pricing I might have gotten. Of course this was a few years ago when things were cheaper.

Here's a cheap DIY version for a 1605 ball screw from a company in the UK for £39.99 or for us in the US about $52. I don't know if they make larger ones yet as a 16mm ballscrew is TINY. I'm sure there are several more DIY versions out there.
