Re: New Build: Another Techno Lathe

True. I did at least use stranded CAT6. The same cable has been working flawlessly in my router for 3 years now. I went through a ton of trial-and-error, time-and-expense to make that machine work, so I'm sticking to the same "formula".

Re: New Build: Another Techno Lathe

Clearpath servos mounted, IPC-5 power supply mounted. IMG_0951.JPG IMG_0952.JPG IMG_0953.JPG Made my own control wires for the servos from CAT-6 cable. Each twisted pair is a +/- signal pair. After a lot of frustration on my router, I found these have much better EMF rejection than any other cable I...

Re: Cheap CNCPC that meets requirements: Lenovo Think Center M92P for Acorn <updated model M93P>

I made a USB recovery drive on my router PC and ran a clean install twice, unsuccessful. Something is wrong with the hardware, so back it goes to Scamazon. One of the USB ports was bad too, so that is reason enough. I ordered a refurb NUC i5-7260U for a bit more money on fleaBay, based on Centroid's...

Re: Cheap CNCPC that meets requirements: Lenovo Think Center M92P for Acorn <updated model M93P>

Ordered a "renewed" M93P on Amazon, it is NFG, no boot, seems like disk issue (the blue screen of death told me so). I'm afraid we are scraping the bottom of the refurbishing barrel on this model. I'm one of those dumb "Apple" guys who doesn't understand the "Quad-encabulato...

New Build: Another Techno Lathe

Been wanting a lathe, manual or CNC for a few years. This Techno-Isel CNC Servo Lathe popped up cheap on FB and I jumped on it. It's fully operational and appears to be barely used, but Techno no longer supports it and there are no post-processors to be found. The controller is very limited as it wa...

Re: Cheap CNCPC that meets requirements: Lenovo Think Center M92P for Acorn <updated model M93P>

Lenovo M700 appears to be the newer version, and judging by the model number it is 607 better than the M93 :ugeek: . Intel I5-6400T

Any reason to go with the M93P instead?

Re: Techno Isel Lathe Refit Using Centroid Acorn and Teknic Clearpath Drives

I just landed one of these lathes in my garage, barely used. It's fully functional as-is, but I can't find a post-processor for Fusion 360. I've already cracked the Acorn/Clearpath code on my router restomod so it would be fairly easy. What part number are you all using for the Clearpath motors? Als...

Re: Very Exciting Boring Machine Conversion

I was still having trouble even with the resistors, and I am not using them now. I had shielded cable before but had only a single 24v+ wire to the servo that was jumpered to the other + positions on the servo 8-pin connector.

Re: VFD Interference with Clearpath Servos

No problem with running 24v to the 24v in on H1, that’s what that terminal is for. When you say you “ ran a resistor into my z axis” what terminal did you connect it to?

Re: VFD Interference with Clearpath Servos

I’m unclear on the actual issue you’re having, but it sounds a lot like what I just went through.

Your 1k pull-up resistors should be across the outputs, between the 24v+ and output (not inline/series).
