Re: Microstepping With Centroid Acorn

also keep in mind though that microstepping tends to lower the available torque on the motors. More isn't always better.

Re: Bridgeport Interact 412 Retrofit ATC Help

hmm. Do you have a sketch or something of how the tool changer is wired in? looking through your code and the manuals I don't see anything obvious. Did you edit the tool changer macro at all? Didn't find much about the toolchanger in the manual at all actually. As this is something I might want to i...

Re: Bridgeport Interact 412 Retrofit ATC Help

That is a slick conversion! Alas, I know very little about tool changers, but you have confirmed via the little lights that all the sensors on the tool changer are working? i.e. it is actually seeing the "tool changer in " sensor and not have some weird error or something? If it is waiting...

Re: Need spindle help

Can you post the model number of the VFD and the wiring diagram you are following?

The gecko drives would be for the steppers, so shouldn't effect the spindle at all.

Are you able to get the spindle to spin on its own without using the acorn?

Still a ways to go and still learning a ton, but have been making parts for three months and been able to basically cover the cost of the conversion through s...

Re: PM-728 Conversion to CNC Teknic Drive Faults

Hey Jerry, I would also suggest downloading the MSP software and running the autotune for each of the axis. The motors just straight from the factory are tuned for a bench test mode. Without tuning they will not give anywhere near their optimal performance. It is very possible this is causing the fa...

Re: Spindle Motor Recommendations

If you had more head weight you either counter balance it or use a stronger motor on the Z axis. I would like to hear/see more success stories shared about users replacing their spindle motors successfully with Servos and their experience. I think the motor on the z axis is going to be powerful eno...

Best of luck on the project!
Thank you for your input by the way. It has been a big help.
