Re: Enable outputs on Acorn
Yes, what he's talking about doing makes no sense at all. Hopefully he'll elaborate on the "why".

Re: Enable outputs on Acorn
I am using a DB25 interface for my stepper motor outputs. While using this are the enable outputs on H2 and H3 still active to use? If so are the active high or low for enabled? Please tell us what stepper drive you are using, most stepper drives are enabled by default and the ENA connection is not...

Re: Losing connection with open loop steppers.
Please post a CURRENT report from the machine. Anytime you have issues AND you have made machine changes you must post a new report so we can see your current settings. We can see how the machine is setup and look at your error log as to what the issue might be.

Re: Ping Test Failed (10.168.41.2)
Sorry ShawnM, I guess my original post wasn't completely clear. It did get to the point were I was unable to reconnect. I have gone back through and used the PC tuner, and worked through Tech Bulletin 270. I downloaded all windows updates and verified that the firewall is still off. I am getting th...

Re: Ping Test Failed (10.168.41.2)
I’m not sure how to add the report.zip file if I can’t connect to Acorn to create the file. I can’t check for com issues if I can’t connected to Acorn. The only thing I was able to check was the ping test. My bad, you stated a reboot fixed it so I was thinking you were able to connect again. I'd tr...

Re: Ping Test Failed (10.168.41.2)
Hi Lee, if I were a betting man I put money on com errors. Please post a current report from the machine as this is needed to see your machine configuration and error log. Please see this topic when asking for help and you should be running the latest version of CNC12 which is 5.08 https://centroidc...

There are setting in the wizard to tell CNC12 that you are using a custom M6, did you set these?

Re: Board standoffs ?and my drivers arent listed?
And in that video the STEPPER drives are wired to the DB25. That's where they go. You may or may not need the enable lines wired up but you wont know until you wire up the step and direction lines and power up the drive with the motor connected to see if the stepper motor locks. All this information...

Re: Serious Issues with existing build
This behavior can still be a loose connection on the X axis and not necessarily a bad board. And since this is a mill I presume is there any chance that some fine, metal shavings got in the enclosure? Blow off the boards with some air when they are powered down. I dont use the C86 boards as they are...
