Re: Simultaneous 4 axis moves on a lathe
care to share how you did the macos to go from c axis to spindle rpm with the button. I have 2 lathes that have vfd and encoders on them and would like to add live tooling to them. would be awesome. sure, you can find this here: https://centroidcncforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=7506&p=66405...

VM ware tuned for Latency Sensitivity is almost as fast as a real PC, but I would stay away from producing additional problems

Re: Thread milling with single point tool question
Centroid uses the tool diameter in the Tool Setup to calculate the toolpath.
Second pass is only a spring pass.
If you want the first pass not on the full depth, use a second tool number for the same tool with a larger diameter in the settings.

Re: upgrading windows and cnc 12
I do not know any benefit of win11 for an CNC PC.
So I would get Win10 with the latest updates, configure it for CNC use and install 4.80
With screenshots from 4.60 wizard do the settings in 4.8, tranfer the files from the ncfiles folder and if you have custom macros.

Re: Probe and Tool Touch Off not working any more?
explained here:
https://centroidcncforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=7715
With a plate probing and ceramic bearings in the spindle the tool is isolated from the spindle housing, thats what Tom pointed out

Cool,
thanks for reporting back.
I was sure shielding everything is not the universal healer, but it is good to be on the save side

Re: Backlash Quandry - Newbie needs help!
Hey this is how I measure position accuracy in Z with rapids. Indicator is 0,001mm https://youtu.be/IRoJdkN6o-o?t=110 No backlash compensation dialed in CNC12, gibs tightly adjusted, HTD 3M 2:1 reduction, but angular bearings and a ground HiWin ball screw (both costs you an arm and a leg) You can be...

Re: Backlash or Operator Error
Well backlash is one thing, but for making parts you must have a position accuracy
With a well build cheap asian Acorn CNC retrofit mill this can be better than 0,003mm, but clamp down your 123 block.
