Re: Newbie converting a PM-728VT
Did some more experimentation. If I press "Cycle Start" (the green button on the VCP), the output "AxisBreakRelease" switches to on, and then the e-stop or rest will switch back to off. But first one has to start the cycle; won't work without it. Will be interesting to see how th...

Re: Newbie converting a PM-728VT
Axisbrakerelease does NOT change the state of the output relay when the VCP reset is pushed. This is the crux of the matter. Any thoughts @cnckeith, @centroidsupport?martyscncgarage wrote: ↑Thu Feb 17, 2022 11:28 am A fault, VCP reset, or Estop press will open the brake circuit. Re: Newbie converting a PM-728VT
Agree, but how do you wire it in to the Acorn? In the most trivial approach, one can draw two wires from the 24V terminal block, so when the system is turned on the brake unlocks, and when the whole system is turned off, the brake activates and prevents the z-axis from creeping down. I had already d...

Re: Newbie converting a PM-728VT
I have added a Teknic z-axis brake that takes 24VDC. How do I wire it in? I tried using Axis3BrakeRelease as an output, but did not behave as expected (lock when e-stop activated, release otherwise). Any suggestion on what output to use or how to wire it? Second, the diagram in the manual suggests u...

Re: PM728VT - Success in Progress
I am planning to upgrade to a 2HP 3-phase motor plus a VFD, and would like to know what bearing sizes does one need to replace the stock ones?

Re: Strange limit exceeded error
First, you really should get in the habit of "graphing" (F8 on the keyboard) all your files BEFORE you press the cycle start button. This will tell you in advance if there are any errors in the file or if the will exceed any travel limits. From your pics the machine is already at X15.7208...

Strange limit exceeded user error
I am trying to drill an array of holes on a flat plate. Have homed the machine, then used the KP-3 to find the left proximal top corner of the plate and set the work coordinates to (0,0,0) there. Then loaded the *.nc file generated by Fusion 360, and after start I get an error "907 X axis trave...

Re: Acorn machine height problems -- please help
Thank you all for trying to help. Here is the report. I am frankly not sure how I set the home. The Clearpath servos self home after power up and I start there.
