Grizzly G0752 Acorn Retrofit

Guys... Here is some shots of my first Acorn build. A Grizzly lathe I have used for about 5 years. I have always wanted to convert it to CNC, but I hadnt found any decent lathe CAD/CAM software. Sure some that would work for CAD, but seriously lacking in the CAM department. I bought my first Acorn t...

Re: Control Questions (Lathe Tailstock Limit Switch setup)

Last question on this item... thanks for the previous good info.

Is there a software (soft switch) limit override or will I need to provide a momentary physical switch to back off the triggered limit?

TIA, GC

Re: Control Questions

Scott... Thanks for the info. I will post my scenario as it could help someone in the future. My current build is a G0752 lathe. I am using npn inductance proximity sensors, 3 of them. One is on X+ (home towards operator), second is on the Z+ (home away from chuck). The third is located to prevent t...

Re: Fried VFD and Acorn

Plus 1 to the GS2 VFD's. Easy to program and good IO options. Reasonably priced. Single phase input options to 3hp. I use about 20 a year almost exclusively. One exception is that Yaskawa has a model that is single phase rated to 5hp. I will look up the model number and post it, if needed

Re: Control Questions

Thanks Scott...
I may have not asked the first question clearly. See attached photo... Since there are different selections, I assume different actions. Any docs?

Control Questions (Lathe Tailstock Limit Switch setup)

A few newbie questions if I may... Can someone direct me to the documentaion regarding Wizard settings of inputs (mostly) and outputs (a little)? For the most part they are self explanatory, but I am sure that the control handles some of them differently than others and if so, see what those differe...

Re: Spindle speed issues

Tom... In the AC drives I am familiar with there is a parameter that uses a percentage +/- 100% to allow the user to adjust the internal workings of the drive to sync with the output of the control board. These are called by different names, but "Analog input Offset" and "Analog Input...

Phoenix Bulkhead Connectors

As requested from another thread. Phoenix COMBICON DFK-MSTB series connectors. I purchase them from Digikey, but they should be handled by your favorite electro-supplier. To see the whole line, I enter the series name in the search bar (in red) and in most cases the complete line is returned. These ...

Phoenix is the brand, I buy them from DigiKey. They are a bit pricey $10-18 a pair, depending on # of pins. I can get a part number from the BOM if you need it.
