Re: Stepper motor driver not listed in config wizard

I'd follow S14976 R4 and only hook up the step and direction lines first. The drive is probably enabled by default so you may not need the enable wires connected. When you power up the drives/motors with only the step and direction connected, if the motor locks then you don't need the enable lines. ...

Re: OPCON and USB-BOB

So your saying that the joystick need to just be simple mechanical "switches", yes? So this means my idea of using my 3 axis, analog joystick is not going work. :( I had high hope for this. analog cnc joy stick? never seen one on a CNC, all the ones i've opened up are just switches inside...

Re: Torchmate accumove 2 conversion

That is a 5V drive and needs to be wired to the DB25 when using the Acorn. Do not wire it to the headers. The switch on the drive is misleading because all it does is switch on an internal resistor circuit to drop the 24 volts you supply it back to 5v. Step and direction signals can be 22 gauge wir...

Re: How to wire Huanyang VFD to Acorn to control spindle speed?

I would assume not but it would be super helpful if you'd post a link to your VFD manual so we can give you the best answer possible. Not all Huanyang VFD's are created equal as there are many knockoffs out there.

Re: How to wire Huanyang VFD to Acorn to control spindle speed?

Re: OPCON and USB-BOB

Awesome, can't wait to try one of these out and make a nice mechanical operators console like your pic. I'm working on a layout now and will laser cut and laser etch a control panel in the coming weeks.

When will these be available Keith?

Re: Acorn cnc plasma z axis home

Homing Z close to the material is a bad idea and a recipe for disaster in my opinion. When your machine needs to rapid around the table for any reason and you have a clamp, a part, a tip up or anything else that might get in the way when the torch is only 1" off the material surface what do you...
