Re: just trying to modify the m6 to move x to home position for toolchange

I see what he's asking now, he's trying to do a tool change over the part during a job after the Z axis moves up but there's no X or Y movement afterwards. My bad. Yes, just modify the M6 macro to move the spindle to your designated tool change position for easy access. Thanks for opening my eyes cn...

Re: Probe and digitizing questions

Another question about digitizing, I thought I ask here to keep the topic the same. Below is a pic of a carbon fiber instrument panel I cut for a customer. It's made from 3mm carbon fiber. carbon fiber panel.jpg I had to painstakingly measure and redraw the perimeter shape by hand using my own grid ...

Re: ShopSabre Sidekick 10 Acorn Retrofit

I can certainly try this tomorrow and hope for the best. My question is what would cause it to go out of calibration? Why do I have to re-run the test? How often will this happen? I opened and verified that the Hypertherm is set to 50:1 (factory default setting) and even checked the voltage divide b...

Re: ShopSabre Sidekick 10 Acorn Retrofit

Thanks Jeff. I am cutting 15/16" holes in the 1/2" plate. it's cutting near perfect holes with THC on even with the voltage issue I'm having. I have a new Ingersoll Rand dryer and have a regulator and gauge right at the plasma cutter. I have it set to 105 PSI and it does't drop below 100 i...

Re: ShopSabre Sidekick 10 Acorn Retrofit

Doing the straight line voltage test I get 94V on the screen when cutting a 4" straight line in 1/2" steel. The book and the Centroid setting is 131 volts. 85A 45 IPM with THC off 94V smoothing off I'll adjust the "profile manager" to 94 volts, turn THC back on and try the line t...

Re: ShopSabre Sidekick 10 Acorn Retrofit

I am using the OEM "profile manager" settings for 85A and 1/2" steel and yes THC was enabled. I tried to disable THC and that was worse as the torch was dragged through the pierce dross.

Re: ShopSabre Sidekick 10 Acorn Retrofit

Current report from today for Keith.
Simple circle in 1/2" plate. The torch touches off then starts to cut then half way around the circle the torch raise up about 1/2" above the steel but it continues to cut.

Re: acorn board fusion 360 and smooth circle

SHawnM I have only one drive for the two mother . I follow the centroid info for wiring the two together . Can you show me this Centroid diagram? I've never seen two servo motors wired to a single servo drive. How do you wire two encoders to the same drive? I'm thoroughly confused by this now. I lo...

Re: acorn board fusion 360 and smooth circle

The ratio is important because it tells the drive how many lines/counts there are for the encoder. It's is explained in your drive manual that you shared with us. Take the time to read the manual so you do understand what is happening and what each change you make does. If you need to contact the dr...
