MPG1 encoder error at startup
Sometimes when I first turn the machine on I get the above error. I don't use MPG1 encoder, only the wireless MPG. Maybe I need to turn MPG1 off somewhere. Any ideas?

Re: Cant turn on Orientation on Delta C2000
I probably would not wire the VFD's 24V supply to H2 on the Oak. Even though that supply to Oak shares the H2 header with the spindle analog output and input, it is not actually related to the spindle interface at all. The 24VDC supply you connect to H2 is used for the servo drive I/O, on the four ...

Re: Cant turn on Orientation on Delta C2000
Delta C2000 parameter file attached for setup of the VFD for an AC servo motor spindle (Panasonic 1.5kW with 2500 pulse incremental encoder and commutation UVW signals). Requires UVW encoder board. Setup suits the default Oak configuration. Uses -10 to +10V for speed and direction. Also has emergenc...

Re: Carousel PLC
You should not need to change the PLC code to remove orient. Just the mfucn macros. There is probably a call to M19 and wait for orientation complete following it. Most likely in the M6 tool change macro, or possibly in the prepare for tool change macro (M17?). You could just comment out all orient ...

Re: ALLIN1DC WORKLIGHT
I added the light output to my PLC program and toggle the state of it with a button on the control panel. I did get a custom control panel made that has a light button on it, but any spare or aux button could be used. Sometimes I find it handy to turn the light off as the glare makes it hard to see ...

Re: Carousel Macro18
I am so close to getting the tool changer to function, but I am getting a "ERROR EXECUTING M18" . Has anyone run across this. Please note I added an underscore I "_I" to the end of CaroselAtHome (input28) to recognize it as an input easily. And also changed input to 44 for my sy...

Re: Mazak Impulse - Oak retrofit build log
I finally feel like I had a win today! After five VFDs, I finally have one that does everything properly. Well close enough anyway. It was a surprisingly large amount of work to get the Delta C2000 installed, wired and configured. There are no setup examples for tuning it nicely on an AC servo motor...

Re: Cant turn on Orientation on Delta C2000
Drive is all sorted and tuned now. See the following video. 6000 RPM max, 0.35s acceleration/deceleration times. Very stiff orient positioning. https://youtu.be/rRdFFe3v2s4 I will try remember to put up a parameter file from the VFD in case anyone else tries to get a servo motor running nicely on one.

Re: Wiring VFD with no backup supply
Just to follow up on this, STO cant be used as requires a power cycle to reset any STO fault. So, may as well just run the drive off a relay... There is an emergency stop digital input option that can be used. It may not be quite as safe as a proper hard power cut or STO but will do the job to let y...
