try with the saddle flush with the bed. if you look in the software travel limits section of the cnc software..that would be a big hint as to where the home position is set to. if the Y axis travel limit is set to a negative number..then i would suspect that the home position would be the saddle flu...

machine home is not part zero, the DRO is telling you how far away from part zero the machine is sitting at. also called a "Work Coordinate"

hello. i'm wondering how you are using the tool library... are touching off each tool every time for each new program? (a common newbie misunderstanding) or are you following the tool library method taught in the training videos? since if you follow that method..it minimizes tool touch off's..etc.. ...

yep... its called Run Time Graphics. in the "Run" menu select RTG to turn it on.. now when you press cycle start you'll see the graphics while you are running a job. you can also switch back and forth from graphics to g code on the fly. be sure to have your tool diameters set properly for ...

be sure to check out the photo slide show at the bottom of this page, great complement to the encoder hookup information that is in the Allin1DC installation manual.

Jeff,

hello. the +5 vdc for the encoders is supplied by the Allin1DC.
connect the encoder wires to the db9 as per the install manual diagram and plug it into the Allin1DC and you are done! -Keith

you'll need a scale that has differential quadrature output A A- B B- Z Z -

from the all in one DC install manual page 13.

fyi.. http://www.zsinstruments.com/ makes a nice scale and they will preconfigure the cable db9 connector to match ajax/centroid.. so its plug and play.
