Re: Casting function?
As always cncsnw, you are a wealth of information. I will look into using these functions it just might take me a while to figure it out. It would be a nice feature if you had an option to select the stock being at the right profile just 1/8 oversized. As a second thought, can you make a profile and...

Lathe broaching
Hi again, I have converted my lathe and am amazed by the results. I should have done this year's ago however I have found something I used to do manually that cnc doesn't seem to want me to do. I used to lock the spindle with an index head and broach splines with the tool post and a profiled tool. I...

Casting function?
Hi all, I am loving learning the intercon software so far but I have come across an issue. I machine alot of castings etc in the lathe that I forge myself and although I can quickly program the finish profile in intercon I find that I am spending most of my time cutting air. Is there a way to have a...

Cnc12 tool width?
Hi all, I was wondering how you go about programming a qroove/parting tool in intercon. Do you have to mentally remember the tool width and compensate the width of the groove when programming or is there somewhere I can enter the width of the tool and have intercon work it out? The other reason is i...

Re: Multiple mpg handwheels
Ok, a quick update. I have mounted X and have it running well. I can use the X through jog functions on screen. I will be purchasing the mpg from centroid. The Z I can use manually while I convert the ball nut/half nut arrangement and I think this will work well allowing disengagement for manual use...

Re: Multiple mpg handwheels
As I mentioned before, you can do exactly what you want with Oak (ac servos) or AllIn1DC (DC servos). I can appreciate this however, I have an Acorn, I do not have an oak and I am reluctant to purchase another system on top of the one I have. Unfortunately, inexperience on my part has led me down t...

Re: Multiple mpg handwheels
Wow, thanks heaps for all the replies. To answer a few questions I will explain my situation as it is a bit different to the normal. (Excuse the long post). I provide a mobile machine maintenance and fabrication business for rural and remote areas of Australia and quite often I am working in very re...

Multiple mpg handwheels
Hi all. I have just received my acorn (still in box  ). I have been looking at how I am going to mount the servo motors on the lathe and have found there is no practical way to keep the manual handwheels. I really need to keep manual control as I do alot of small fiddly maintenance type work ...
