Re: OAK/DYN4
Oh yeah they are free until commanded to move. It’s that period of time when I power up the cabinet and the drives get logic power, but don’t have motor power yet and the Oak hasn’t pulled the enable high. I was thinking an enabled drive with no power might cause a fault but I’m still not sure why I...

Re: OAK/DYN4
Is it possible the active enable low setting on the drive is causing this? I don't know if that pin is high until pulled low by Oak, or if it's just floating there waiting for something to pull it high or low. If it's allowed to be low prior to the Oak running, but after the drive logic power is app...

Re: OAK/DYN4
Yeah I have logic power on all the time. Contactor only switches the motor power. The breaker turns them both off. It’s just like that second diagram except I have a line reactor between the breaker and contactor. I’m really puzzled about this. It would seem that if it were a noise issue it would ha...

Re: OAK/DYN4
I played around with the setup some more today and it’s still not quite right. Not sure if it’s a shielding issue. At least some of the drives fault out immediately when Oak starts running and pulls in the contactors. If I cycle the breakers after that they will work just fine. I can cycle the e-sto...

Re: OAK/DYN4
Explanation of suggested settings from DMM: GEAR_NUM is the scaling of the pulse INPUT from the controller (OAK) to the servo drive, GEAR_NUMx4=number of counts per rev So we recommend setting GEAR_NUM to 8192=32768counts per rev from the OAK, so set 32768 into OAK motor encoder count LINE_NUM is t...

Re: VFD Braking Resistor Specification?
I think my GS4 manual gives a MIN resistance value. I’d be hesitant to go any lower than what’s specified. I’m fairly certain that Kw value can always be higher for a resistor.

I would be willing to take one for the team and beta test the “get more for your money” features.

Re: Hardware help e-stop contactor and fuse blocks
I think the only thing I didn't buy from Automation Direct was the e-stop, I got that from Centroid. They also sell a really neat strain relief for routing the cables out of the cabinet. https://www.centroidcnc.com/centroid_di ... nents.html
