Re: '93 Haas VF-1 retrofit

The ABB Microflex drives I use on my lathe OAK and MPU11/GPIO4D conversions have both motor power (230VAC 1Ø) and 24VDC logic power on at all times. The motion controller switches the enable on and off as needed. I guess I've been assuming I have to have the motor power run through an e-stop contac...

Re: '93 Haas VF-1 retrofit

I can't see anything going on there with my fluke. It only shows ~0.2v drop when I power all the drives at once. It's probably not the best measurement tool for that but it's all I've got at the moment. I have tried powering them up individually and sequentially with no difference in outcome. I also...

Re: '93 Haas VF-1 retrofit

Well I rewired the drives. The logic power is being routed through my spare contactor so I can play with the timing and turn it on and off easier. They seem to fault out anytime logic power is applied for very long without the motor power. If I wire them all to come on together it seems to be happy ...

Re: DMM Dyn4 Drive Faults, Noise/Feedback Issues

Usually when I release the e-stop is when mine faults out. Probably not related to this issue. I don’t want to muddy the waters here, just thought I’d share that bit from DMM regarding the solid red light.

Re: DMM Dyn4 Drive Faults, Noise/Feedback Issues

I have never seen a SOLID RED LED. Please try and read from that drive using DMMDRV software and see the drive status. The manual does not have anything for a solid RED LED. I would move that drive to another axis, mark it with tape and see if the problem follows the drive. If it does, report this ...

Re: '93 Haas VF-1 retrofit

I didn't try anything in a loop like that. I issued a couple of commands using MDI and it worked fine. That is, once I had power cycled the drives to clear the fault. I think I'm going to re-wire the upper left (typo) part of the cabinet. It wasn't all planned out very well as the noise filters were...

Re: '93 Haas VF-1 retrofit

So far I have managed to get the servos and Oak bench tested okay. The servos won't take the GEAR_NUM=8192 & LINE_NUM=4095 for some reason. Following Marty's video and setting them to 2000 seemed to work fine. The bench testing of the Oak came to a halt when the contactors pulled in and the serv...

'93 Haas VF-1 retrofit

I bought this old Haas a few months back. It's really clean for it's age but has been stripped of all it's controls. It came out of a community college up north. Story is the spindle drive went bad and they surplussed it. The guy I bought it from stripped the controls and had planned on retrofitting...

Re: E stop contactor for ALLINONE

If you are just wanting a regular ac contactor with a dc coil, automation direct sells them that way.

Re: OAK/DYN4

Okay I will do that. They shipped 10-11-19 so it’s questionable. The FW revision on the drives is PTS1-26-HL01
