Re: Can't get Z offsets to work
If you have a probe, I don't understand the need to measure anything manually. I use a custom macro to measure the distance from the tripped probe to my part zero automatically. Then that measurement is stored and automatically used to measure each tool. This is with a tool measure switch mounted in...

Re: Sizing the Power supply for stepper drives
As long as when you ground the input, it changes, the acorn is fine. The NO switch doesn't bother me, as it's just for homing and soft limits take care of the rest. Sounds like progress.

Re: Sizing the Power supply for stepper drives
I don't normally use shielded wire for a proxy, but that may be an option. You can wire a proxy straight into the controller and make sure it's good that way. Try leaving that servo disconnected both power and signal and see if the proxy works for a test. That should tell you if the servo is messing...

Re: Sizing the Power supply for stepper drives
In the same package of proximity sensors, I have had some different ones in the mix before. Make sure it is the same part number and that it is npn. Normally open or normally closed can be used either way and flipped in the wizard. If you have not done that, give that a try for the one not working f...

Re: Hardware-paired Clearpath gantry servos falls out of step
Your linear rail is home base for all of this. Start with double checking the linear rail is straight, level, and flat. Also check that both linear rails are even with each other.

2 things I would try in your testing. First pull one motor at a time and run the machine with just one motor on one side to check each motor with no cutting involved. Second, Try swapping another motor from another axis (x or Y) if they are programmed the same. That should help narrow it down.

Re: Parking and Homing
The distance the z pulls moves off of your upper limit switch should be subtracted from your usable stroke. To phisically have 141 movement are you taking that pull off movement when it homes into consideration?
Also on a router, I only set wcs to machine bed once and don't mess with it again.

Re: Shopsabre 408 with centroid acorn controls
Probably not but it might work. Measure the mounting bolt pattern and shaft size. That will give you an idea. Selling the other machine and buying better parts might make more sense instead of leaving the other machine non usable.

Gerber Sabre. I have not done one of those, but most recommend replacing motors, drivers, and all.

That does not look like a shopsabre controller. One of the boards say gerber. Send a pic of the whole machine.
