Re: Updating to 4.82??
Clearly Centroid needs to make this rickety procedure to update to the next release EASIER and automated. I will stay on whatever release I am currently on. Way too confusing.

Updating to 4.82??
So I have trepidation in updating to the current release of Acorn. I made changes to my Acorn and don't really remember what I changed to do it. I have a lathe with RPM encoder and I have it reading out degrees of rotation. I also made some changes to the VCP in moving buttons around and have 2 macr...

Re: The Acorn issues continue.......
Ah the old comms errors. I just fought this myself and the problem was my windows somehow got corrupted. I had to reload windows on my laptop to fix it. My machine would run for a while and then just stop in the middle of a part and reset due to loss of communication.

VFD that works with Acorn
Looking for a reasonably priced VFD from Ebay or Amazon that is proven to work good with Acorn.
My application is a lathe with a 3HP motor.
Any particular brand that you recommend? Any brand to stay away from?
Thanks for any input you guys have.

Re: Changing over to 220v for my control box....
You just need to run a neutral to the box and either leg of the 220v and the neutral will give you 115v.

Re: Screw Compensation Table causing software backlash
Move your axis an inch or 2 and then move it back to zero. Does it come back to zero or is it off by a certain amount with the compensation table populated.

Re: Need help with converting 2 axis grinder
It would just be a lathe with a tool post grinder and C axis minus the grinder RPM.
I would just run a vfd or variable DC power supply and adjust the grinder RPM manually.

Simple back and forth
Is there a simple way to make one of my axis's move back and forth repeatedly. I am trying to get my Z axis on my lathe to move back and forth from 0 to a set point and back. Is there a loop function so that it will just rerun the move over and over? Not looking to write an elaborate macro that I do...
